The Dragons scored ten runs in the last three innings to make a close game a run-away, winning 23-10. Sam Ballinger shut the Wizards down for five innings to pick up the win in relief. Ballinger surrendered just three hits and didn't allow a run, while walking two and striking out seve. Josh Batchelor struggled on the mound for the Wizards, walking eleven in four innings and picked up the loss. Nick Prince, David Roche and Sean Callahan all had home runs for the Dragons.
For the Dragons, Prince had five RBIs on the day, going 4 for 7, while Roche went 3 for 6. Newcomers Shu Kai and Kuni Maebara played flawless defense in the outfield for the Dragons and each added a hit.
Highlights for the Wizards were Josh Batchelor reaching base all five times he came to the plate, with two singles, two walks and a HBP. Yoshi Fuchigami struck out the side in the bottom of the fifth, throwing only two balls in the inning. Andrew Peasey made a nice throw on the run at shortstop to get Roche to finish the seventh.
