The NZ Under 18s struggled in their first game against Australia, falling 10-0 in six innings. Only Marco Lezaic and Sam Nash prevented the Kiwis from getting no-hit, both getting doubles. NZ made seven errors.
Andrew Marck went five innings, giving up nine runs on seven hits and four walks. Canterbury's Mark Harbott started at second, going 0-2, with a strikeout.
