Canterbury Baseball Club
by Melody Callahan 18 March 2009
A few notes:
1) Season close This weekend (21-22 March) is the last weekend for the 08/09 summer season. 09/10 season will start around the 1st weekend of October
2) AGM request Canterbury Baseball will be holding its AGM on 20 April 2009. It will be held at Fast Cargo International on the corner of Chapmans Road and Lock Crescent in Woolston. Starting at 7pm.
I am asking as many of you as possible to come along. We are trying to get as many people as possible onto the Board or even as helpers. This is the only way we will grow our club at all age groups. This year it was left to 4 people to try an do everything. This was just too much and the club did not grow as we had hoped. For those of you that are not aware, the first 2 years we had 2 x U12, 2 x U14 teams and 3 senior teams. However, as there was very little help this year the numbers just dropped away. I would like to double our numbers this coming season, but need your help to do this so please come along if you wish to see this sport grow here in Canterbury and New Zealand.
3) Autumn Training We are looking at playing some games over the autumn on Sundays. These games will be used to help the U16 players that are looking at going to Japan in August, so the more game time they get the better they will become so please come along and help.
For these games dates and times will be placed here on the web site so please keep an eye on it.
