Rules
We generally follow the rules of Major League Baseball.
Here's a useful index to the rules, courtesy of the BCO.
Some additional rules from Ray Brown:
Youth Division (under 12)
- All games will be 2 hours or 6 innings in length.
- There will be a 6 run rule for each inning - teams will change over
if the batting team scores 6 runs.
- There will be a re-entry rule only for players that are in the starting
line-up. Each starting player will be allowed to be replaced one time during the game and can be re-entered back into the game in the same batting position they were taken out of.
- Pitchers may pitch no more than 2 innings.
- There will be no lead offs, base-runners may leave the base when the
ball reaches the batter. If a base-runner leaves too soon and is thrown
out, he will be out. If he is safe then he will return to the base he
left. If the ball is hit the base-runner may not advance any farther thaen
the batter runner, except if the runner is on 2nd base, the he may only
advance as far as 3rd base unless the batter hits a triple or home-run.
Runners on 3rd base may advance on a pass ball or wild pitch.
